VirtualShield for Windows

We have two different apps available for Windows computers. Our secure, unlimited VPN app, and our brand-new Antivirus app. Both of these apps are supported on Microsoft Windows 7 and above. This includes Windows 8, 8.1, 10, and the new Windows 11.

If you can download and install other apps on your computer, then it is likely you can install VirtualShield as well. If you are having trouble installing apps outside of the Microsoft Store, see our support article.

Service Pack 1 is required on Windows 7 systems. It will be installed automatically allongside other Windows updates. See this Microsoft article for more information.

Check your Windows version

If you are unsure which version you’re using, you can follow these simple steps to check. As long as you are using Windows 7 or later, it means your computer is fully compatible.

How to determine which version of Windows you’re using:
1

Click the Start button, type “winver” in the search box and press Enter.

Alternatively, you can press Windows key + R on your keyboard.
2

A screen will appear with detailed information about your Windows Operating System, including the version and the revision number.

See this Microsoft article for more info on how to check your Windows version.

Upgrade your Windows version

If your computer is not supported we recommend checking for Windows updates. If a new version is available and if your system is compatible, you may be eligable to upgrade your Windows version for free.

How to check for updates on your Windows computer:
1

Start by connecting to a power outlet, if your computer runs on battery.

2

Click the Start button, type “update” in the search box and select Check for updates from the list of results.

If you don’t see the Check for updates option, select Windows Update.
3

Wait while Windows looks for the latest updates for your computer.
That’s it! Once the update is complete, you can proceed to install VirtualShield.

See our support article for more info on how to install and uninstall the app on your Windows computer.
