Overview
VirtualShield offers IPv6 leak protection by disabling all IPv6 traffic while connected to our VPN, thus providing you with a guarantee that no Internet traffic leaks out over your regular connection while connected to VPN.
Windows
If you're using an IPv6 address to connect to the internet, we recommend enabling this option. This helps protect your system by preventing any data from leaking across your regular network without your knowledge or consent.
If you are unsure, you can use this Google link to verify if your network is using IPv6 or not.
IPv6 Protection
How to enable or disable IPv6 protection on your Windows computer:
Open VirtualShield and log in to your account, if you are not logged in already.
For more help logging in and connecting, see our support article.
Click More Options (three vertical dots) near the corner of the app, and choose VPN Settings from the popup menu.
You can also right-click the shield icon next to your clock, then navigate to VPN > VPN Settings from the popup menu.
Toggle the IPv6 Protection option on or off, then click the 
back arrow to return to the Home screen.
You may need to re-connect to the VPN after saving your settings before the changes will be applied.
Linux (Coming soon)
Our new Linux app is not yet available, but it will be coming soon to both Debian and Arch based platforms. Our development team is working hard to release it as soon as possible.

Common Questions
Do I need to disable this option if I'm not using IPv6?
No, your regular IP address will still be fully protected. However, we recommend leaving this option on in case your network changes, or your Internet Provider offers IPv6 in the future.
Why can't I see this option on my device?
We'll be adding this option to more devices very soon, including macOS, Apple iOS, Linux, and more. Contact us for more detailed information.
