Overview
When you close the VirtualShield desktop application, it will continue protecting you in the background, allowing you to use your computer or tablet just as you would normally.
This allows VirtualShield to keep your system protected at all times. If you disable this option, clicking the X will exit the software, instead of hiding it. We recommend leaving this option enabled in order to be fully protected.
Windows
If you can't find the VirtualShield app on your Windows computer, it might be running in the background. To open it again, click the shield icon in the Tray area near the corner of your screen.
This icon will appear with a green circle when you are connected to the VPN, otherwise it will be yellow. If you are not logged in to your account, this icon will appear gray in color.
If you don't see this icon, click the up-arrow to Show hidden icons. You can drag this icon and move it next to your clock for quick & easy access.

Linux (Coming soon)
Our new Linux app is not yet available, but it will be coming soon to both Debian and Arch based platforms. Don't hesitate to contact us and we'll be more than happy to notify you via email when the new Linux app is available for download.
In the meanwhile, you can install our Legacy Linux application instead. That will allow you to stay protected until the new version of our Linux app becomes available.
The Legacy Linux application is only compatible with Debian-based systems at this time.
Common Questions

You can also try right-clicking the Taskbar, then navigate to Taskbar Settings > Notification area > Choose which icons appear on the Taskbar. Find the VirtualShield app in this list, then move the toggle switch to the on position.
